Touch Typing manual

“Learn Touch Typing in 4 easy lessons”  was published in 1950 by Star Touch Typewriting System. The book Underwood and Royal typewriters with a guide to all the parts and controls, has a speed typing course, and includes many examples of business typing and correspondence that provide a glimpse into the somewhat more formal manner of communication in the middle of the 20th century. It’s interesting to observe that all sample letters began with “Gentlemen” or “Dear Sir,” when men ruled the office and women were the secretaries.
